Course Content

Introduction
Acupuncture is a medical treatment that involves inserting fine needles into specific points on the body to treat health issues. It originated in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and has been used for at least 2,500 years.

What is acupuncture?
The term “acupuncture” describes a family of procedures involving the stimulation of anatomical points on the body using a variety of techniques. The acupuncture technique that has been most often studied scientifically involves penetrating the skin with thin, solid, metallic needles that are manipulated by the hands or by electrical stimulation.

Yin Yang Theory
The fundamental basis of the theory is acceptance that two things can be opposites, but also entirely complementary, balanced between and dependent upon each other for existence, power and meaning. Put simply, there can be no Yin without Yang, no Yang without Yin.
